Woodland-Raised Berkshire Pork Shares
Looking to fill your freezer with flavorful, locally raised pork? Our Berkshire pigs are raised in a natural woodland environment where they have the freedom to root, forage, explore, and rest as pigs were meant to. We believe healthy animals produce exceptional pork, which is why we focus on providing a low-stress environment and raising every pig with care from start to finish.
Our pigs are supplemented with a non-GMO feed while growing at a natural pace, allowing them to develop the marbling, tenderness, and rich flavor Berkshire pork is known for. When you purchase a pork share from Pleasant Valley Pastures, you can feel confident knowing exactly where your food comes from and the family who raised it.
Purchasing a half or whole hog is one of the most economical ways to stock your freezer with premium pork. Not only will you enjoy a variety of cuts for months to come, but you'll also have the opportunity to customize your order by selecting the cuts, sausage flavors, bacon thickness, and other options that best fit your family's preferences.

How the Process Works
-
Reserve your half or whole hog with a deposit.
-
As your processing date approaches, we'll contact you to complete your custom cut sheet.
-
After your hog is processed, the butcher will provide the hanging weight, and we'll send your final invoice for the pork.
-
Processing typically takes about two weeks. Once the butcher confirms pickup is ready, we'll email you with pickup instructions.
-
You'll pay Pleasant Valley Pastures for your pork and pay the butcher directly for the processing fees when you pick up your order.
Reserve Your Pork Share
Your deposit reserves a hog for a future processing date—it is not the final purchase price.
Once your hog has reached processing weight, we'll contact you to complete your order, finalize your cut selections, and collect the remaining balance before pickup.
If you've never purchased a pork share before, don't worry—we're happy to walk you through the process and answer any questions along the way. Our goal is to make buying local, freezer-ready pork simple, transparent, and enjoyable.
